Guitar is with the maker, Mark Finney in Leicester - Please Contact VTG initially with any Enquiries.
____________________________________________________________

This is a rare opportunity to buy a high-quality individually Luthier-designed and built Grand Auditorium guitar, with high standard detailing & fittings, completed by Mark, in October, 2009. The Mark Finney Guitars inside label is numbered 00011, dated 19-10-09.

Equally unusual is the opportunity to gain insight into the making process through Mark Finney's contributions to Luthierforum.com., Including the documentation of the construction of his Maple-bodied Tricone Resonator, which I also have for sale, and also videos on YouTube.
Description
Stock Number: VTGC1026.

This strikingly beautiful guitar was made by Mark Finney, Leicester, who has worked with Colin Keefe, Luthier, Long Eaton, Nottingham (http://www.keefeguitars.co.uk/), for many years, initially as a student and, subsequently, continuing making his own Guitars and other stringed instuments, including Mandola and Mandolin, for a good number of years now....please see the two Luthierforum.com links below the YouTube clip display....both pages 1 & 2 on the build description, and from part way down page 2 plus page 3 on the Gallery.

The high-quality specification includes some now very expensive and unusually attractive timbers, including Lutz Spruce from British Columbia for the beautifully grained top, Honduras Rosewood for the equally attractive back, sides, headstock facing & for the fully bound fingerboard, Brazilian Mahogany neck, richly coloured Snakewood bridge, rosette & trussrod cover, Rosewood bridge pins, and very light coloured, contrasting Holly for the multiple top bindings, back binding and fingerboard/headstock bindings. Machineheads are enclosed Schaller tuners, bone nut & intonated saddle. The scarf-jointed neck has traditional stacked construction to the wide heal with twin bolted neck joint.

The finished job....I think you will agree looks stunning in the images I have taken and uploaded here....any further info. you need, or if you want to discuss price etc.....just let me know!
Condition
As mentioned, the guitar was completed in October, 2009 but it looks like it is newly built, showing only the very slightest of play markings.
Action, strings & cases
A splendidly resonant guitar, which plays beautifully, with an excellent 12th. fret action of around 2.5mm., on 45mm. nut width fingerboard, and 650mm. scale.

It presently appears to be strung with Light 12 Gauge Phosphor Bronze strings, which are of some age, but little used. The guitar sounds magnificent....very resonanant, even with these old strings. I will leave it to the buyer to select and fit their own preferred strings.

The original "Rockcase" by Warwick, Black Tolex traditional type hard case, is included, in sound condition, but with slight localised lifting to small areas of the Tolex covering.

**** YOUTUBE ****
------------------------------------------------------------

As there is no footage of this guitar, for the time-being I have embedded here the YouTube clip of Mark's Tricone, which excellently demonstrates the sound quality of his very attractive guitars.....but clearly a visit to assess the guitar in person would be advised.

The two Luthierforum.com links mentioned earlier are included as Useful Links #1 & #2 below the YouTube clip box.
